Meet Gary & Shelly

Gary and Shelly began making their own Bloody Mary mix for weekends at the cabin — something simple they could bring along without packing multiple seasonings.

After a few rounds of trial and error, they landed on a blend they loved and started sharing it with friends and family. Over time, that small recipe turned into something bigger.

That original cabin recipe eventually became their signature Original seasoning blend.

In 2020, after retiring, they officially launched 1788 Spice — a small-batch seasoning company based in Wisconsin — and have been building it together ever since.

 

Built for weeknight dinners, weekend gatherings, and everything in between.
